oh yes, that happens to me all the time, since I am supposed to be this "American' girl.
I let them talk to their heart's content before i reply... its alwaya funny to see how their face color changes when you speak fluently back to them :)-

telling stories about getting wedgies and swirlies in grade school...stories of lost loves...you know, the full shabang.

Hahaha..the same happens when people talk in pashto thinking that i can't understand em but when they're done with sharing whatever "secrets" they wanted to then i reply to em leave em all like huhhh!!

happened wid me once - in college a black dude (kinda like bob marley) was walking and I made a comment in hindi "sala dekh kaisa dikhta hai" - guess wat he turns around and starts speaking in hindi - (fuck was my reaction) - went on to explain he is from guyana and had indian neighbours all his life.....(happens the other way around too)-
