Why do you identify with rock music?

What are the values that you share with others who listen to this kind of music?

What has shaped these values?

//Why do you identify with rock music?

Loud rock/metal helps me in my thought processes. It helps me forget my problems for a while.

No one around me listens to what I listen to. I don't share any interests with people around me.

//What has shaped these values?

Hate, frustrations, anger and a way to let them out... in a non-destructive way.

I identify with most all music because there's a message and usually one I have already experianced myself in real life. I think most people need it said for them out loud. At least sometimes. Life!!

Rock/Metal music helps me a lot in dealing with my depression..either its goth,glam,punk or alternative..everything's acceptable as long as it loud & thrashing:D
Rock/Metal genre is very addictive when you're in the mood & i'd like to you to check out this band called Opeth..you'd love it for sure.

I identify with it... coz it tells my story.

Values... I did not know that rock music leads to breading of any value system. Its just a kind of music that gives my soul pleasure. I share friendship with people who listen to rock not values.

Sorry I would fail to answer as i really dont know what values you are talking about.

P.S. You used to look damn cute in your childhood. :)

I've stopped listening to rock music because I mostly find it pessimistic and negative.

I think people feel that rock music helps them get over their problems for a while, but if you think about it, it's like alcohol or a drug; you get into a tension-free world temporarily, but then when you snap out of it you feel more hungry for it. Soon you're in depression because you're leading a life that is just sung by a mere rockstar. It's not something shaped by you.

I've become a better person now then I was when I use to listen/depend on rock music.

:-)
